About Dr. Hachadorian
Dr. Michael Hachadorian was born and raised in San Diego and is proud to now serve the same community that shaped him. After years of advanced training across the country, he has returned home to provide expert orthopedic care for his neighbors, friends, and family.
Dr. Hachadorian specializes in shoulder and elbow surgery including advanced joint replacement, minimally invasive arthroscopy, or fracture care. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at UC San Diego before pursuing dedicated subspecialty training as a Shoulder & Elbow Fellow at the University of Washington, one of the highest-volume and most respected programs in the country. There, he trained with leaders in the field and gained extensive experience in both complex and routine cases, from primary shoulder replacements to revision surgeries and cutting-edge arthroscopic techniques.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Hachadorian is actively engaged in research and education. His academic work focuses on improving outcomes in shoulder arthroplasty, biomechanics, and advanced imaging—areas that directly translate into better patient care. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and remains committed to advancing the field while mentoring the next generation of surgeons.
At the heart of his practice is a clear mission: to help patients get back to doing the things they love. He is known for taking the time to listen to each patient’s goals, explaining treatment options in clear and understandable terms, and working together with patients to choose the best path forward.
As a San Diego native, Dr. Hachadorian views his work as more than a career—it is a way of giving back to his community. A former baseball player at San Diego State University under the legendary Coach Tony Gwynn, he understands firsthand the importance of staying active and healthy. His goal is to ensure that patients in San Diego have access to world-class orthopedic care close to home, so they can continue doing the activities they love.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Hachadorian enjoys surfing, golfing, or spending time with his family and dogs. Staying active is an important part of his own life, and he brings the same focus to helping his patients remain active and engaged in the activities that matter most to them.
